Strange, they have been heavily fertilized.
I will try another fertilizer which has more potassium.

I'm no expert but it doesn't look like the variegated namwa plants that I have seen. They have clearly visible white/creamy areas on the leaves. Maybe its my computer resoltion but your plant looks...

Zone 7 in the east is totally different from zone 7 in the west, or zone 7 in other places so would be helpful to have a more specific location.
In zone 7 Virginia (or even 6 b) we are digging...
