37.667910, we're visiting the Bay area too. A nice drive up the coast. I saw some areas have had rain. Are the fires any better now? You hear more about it then us being in the state.

37.667910 - Thank you. It's a short "cold season" for them, warming up again in Feb.There is a big fan and a 1500w heater that's all it's using. Xmas lights are just for show =)

Thanks guys, and Mushtaq the top quarter the leaves have frost damage. Other then that it's all good. I've recently wrapped it in christmas lights.

A little off topic, are you the Vlad that grows citrus on the other forum?
This tends to happen from Oct-Jan inside a house. They need really bright light and a good watering every couple of weeks....

Winter report
We are now entering the winter season so it's time for a new thread. These bananas took their first frost last week causing minimal damage. I planted them in June so I hope the p-stems are big enough...

Hey! All the bananas are still healthy and growing. There is no frost in the 14 day out look. Things have noticeably slowed down but no need for the heater yet. Heating cables are in place,...

So the Pisang Ceylon was chopped back to 3 feet. This should help over winter.
The heating cable came, not sure when I should put that in? Oct -Nov?

They grow best outside until just before a frost if you can.. That way these issues will only happen from Nov-April and not year round:) It can grow somewhat naturally with proper sun, rain and so...

It'll be a small flower but I realize what to do for next time. For the past 2 years It has been growing year round in same container. It stays inside from end of Oct-goes out in May

Thanks everyone, @Island Brah- yes this is in Southern Ontario. There is another member on here who has a dwarf something about to send out a flower and he's 35 miles south.
