I like the Dwarf Namwah for my area, seems they are hardy and produce good amounts of fruit and pretty tasty.

My favorite Dwarf for overall satisfaction has been Dwarf Namwah, makes you look like a pro, ha ha.

I am in 9a and have had DC for many years but they never do much in the ground. They struggled even on the best years. Don't waste your time, I just dug them up and making room for other stuff.

I bought one of these "Balbisiana" on a visit to "Going Bananas" and if my memory serves me right, Don said they are one in the same as Thai Black. I am in 9a and mine seems to do ok in the ground...

+1 what Darkman says, also that heavy mulch will benefit that corm during those hard winters helping them come back strong and healthy in the spring.
