Re: First Flower - Dwarf Brazilian (Sept 2019)

Hi Darla! We are very good, thank you for asking. TS Imelda came and went. The worst of it stayed off to the east of us, so it was really just ~18" of rain over 2 days. I hope all is well with you...

Re: First Flower - Dwarf Brazilian (Sept 2019)

Thanks, Darla! The kid is pretty excited at the prospect of homegrown bananas. Good luck on yours as well. How is your Blue Java bunch filling out?

Re: Banana tree snapped in half with almost mature fruit!!

Have you considered removing the fruit and force ripening? I hear that putting them in a bag with a few apple peels or banana peels will do the trick. They need to be in the presence of sufficient...

Re: what if any are signs of inflorescence moving up pseudo stem

Fertilization Schedule

Since planting our backyard bananas last year, I've watered with a 24-8-16 all purpose plant food weekly without giving it much thought. My bananas seem to be healthy enough so far, but reading...

Re: Texas Gulf Coaster in da House

My dwarf Brazilians have been growing like crazy and seem very sturdy. The “real deal” Blue Javas are also doing well. I lost 1 Gran Nain over the winter and another is very shrimpy -
I think I want...

Re: Texas Gulf Coaster in da House

Welcome! I'm just a little south of you in League City. I had a similar experience - ordered a couple "Ice Cream" bananas from an online nursery that turned out to be Gran Nains, then got a couple of...

Hi All!

We recently decided to put in a swimming pool, which led to a search for a plant that would grow quickly, put out enough foliage to block the 2-story house next door, and not drop too many...
