I wouldn't go for the Viente Cohol even with summer heat. I wasn't impressed. :)

Santa Cruz has very nice mild (A/C) weather. I've been their before ...maybe a Raja Puri.

You could, but it would be better if you had something with more Nitrogen, less Phosphorous, and more Potassium. Are you looking for something organic or does it matter to you?

Neat, we saw a partial eclipse here until the sun went down. I read that Tokyo, Japan or there around that area was able to see the whole thing.

Yug is right. In order to prevent the compost from being spread everywhere and to concentrate it in a pile it is better to have some type of containment. Otherwise the wind, rain, birds and etc can...
