Re: First Macropropagation experiments - Sddarkman619

If you have it available in your area get rice hulls! For macro! For potting mix! For in ground backfill! For anything banana.

Perlite and ricehulls are the 2 best best things for Musa! You can’t...

Re: Fruiting height

Rob is correct these are not Musa Haa Haa. These are Musa Iholena iholena. Aka dwarf white iholena. I have 3 from all 3 sources. So far they grow way slower than I had hoped. By the looks of my...

Re: Please identify - might be about to flower!

Very hard to tell. It’s not a dwarf Orinoco. It could be a tall Orinoco. As soon as the flower opens take daily pictures. Or at least every 2-3 days.

Re: An easy one for the pros

Thank you Gabe!

Excellent education! Bunch size does have a major effect! I can see how the bunch hanging more would make it look “tighter” and more namwa like. I do notice the flat pads! I’ve never...

Re: Bent leaves

I will end this argument!

You spray calcium on the leaf! One or more of the following happens!!!
A. It is absorbed by the leaf!
.......1. It’s either used or stored!
.......2. Weather used or...

Same here as Musa expert Hector says this is totally normal. Some do it some don’t. Looks amazing! Not a lot longer and that one will flower! Great job Nick!

Re: Effect of Post Shooting Bunch Spray of Chemicals on Bunch Characters ...

I agree with the GA3. I have experimented with it. Gotta be very careful though. Things can get really weird really fast with too much GA3 lol. My final thought was that the small benefit was not...

Re: An easy one for the pros

Man that’s a hard one! Amazing job by Gabe. I agree it’s a namwa. The spacing, fruit not pointing upwards, light markings on the fruit, and the bunch angle is very strange! I guess due to conditions...

Re: Banana with leaf problem

I have about 10 of the Musa Maoli. I understand it to be an amazing Paciffic Plantain. It FOR SURE is NOT dwarf! Mine are still small and im expecting 17’ or so range. Maybe even larger!

Re: My Blooming Musa 'Little Prince'

It’s 100% a super dwarf cavendish. It won’t be seeded. All modern super dwarf types are from the same line.

Congrats! You will have a few little nanners. They taste great. Any home grown cavendish...

Re: Clarification of Agristarts "ICE CREAM" Banana

Just like Orinoco does sometimes. The core of the fruit can be hard and mostly chewy. I describe it as dense, hard, chewy, and almost dry-like. When you bite into one you will know! Compost for me! I...

Re: Ok now Iím worried...

Nothing wrong. It is all due to rapid growth. The new growth pushes so fast it doesn’t completely harden off and gets sunburn. The new leaf is usually a lighter color and flimsy. They often get...

Re: Musa Basjoo Help please

Nothing wrong. The brown mark is due to rapid growth. The new growth pushes so fast it doesn’t completely harden off and gets sunburn. Totally normally. Plant looks great!
