Re: what have i done to this poor plant please help!!

The damaged leaf is probably a response to stress. That is a trailing indicator, meaning it is telling you what conditions were like a week or two ago. If the most recent leaf is normal, that means...

Re: What's the fastest your pups have pupped!?

It depends on a lot of factors such as variety, health of the parent, etc. Some naturally pup earlier in the life cycle, others not. Also, a transplant that is weak or shocked might pup quickly and...

Re: what have i done to this poor plant please help!!

Stop overthinking and overdoing. Put it outside, keep it damp, not soggy, do not repot it, quit disturbing the roots, don't trim anything off that is green, and be patient.

Re: Did I overfertilize?

Leaves are a trailing indicator, meaning that they follow the vent, and show you what was happening in the past. What a leaf shows, depends on the season: If in winter, or cooler weather when leaf...

Re: PStem splitting at bottom

Not to worry. That is just a leaf petiole that couldn't expand as fast as the corm. A sign that the plant is growing well.

Re: Need some advice Blue Java

At this point, let it be and let the plant figure it out. Even a plant that is choking will find a way out on its own.

Re: Dwarf cavendish new growth rot

That has been my experience with Cavendish variants, the Reds, and others. There is something "magical" about 55F. When temps dip below that temp (or somewhere thereabout) during the winter, they...

Re: Need Recommendations for Banana Taste Diversity

Variety in taste would include Saba or Praying Hands, a red banana, Lakatan (less sweet, stronger flavor) and Misi Luki or Namwah. Most of these are tall in inbetween.

The Fhias and Pisang Klotek,...

Re: What banana to grow

It somewhat depends on your tastes, but for me, a Namwah. But there may be things available there that we don't have on the mainland that might be "the bomb".

Re: cut down/leave main trunk, cut out/leave pups

I never cut down the pseudostem until at least all of the leaves have dried out, and even then usually not til the pseudostem has stopped being firm and green. As long as there are leaves, there is...

Re: Started flowering in winter

The size and quantity of bananas of bananas has been determined by the time you see the flower. Maturity of the bunch will work itself out.

Re: Started flowering in winter

Nor more new leaves. The flowering cycle will continue to completion, even in winter. As long as the pseudostem is viable, they should ripen in the spring. You really can't alter the trajectory and...
