I'd like to add that when making savory tamales (pork, chicken, cheese, etc) I *highly* prefer using banana leaves over corn husks to wrap and steam them in. The flavor is just so much more...

Thanks for this, I had been meaning to ask if anyone had actually tried these. I remember seeing Cody Lundin of Dual Survival eating the heart of the p-stem, but I was too chicken to try it last week...

The answer is no.. I have 4 Pineapples w/ a pup or more.. 2 being crowns. This one has 5 pups & the slip. :^)

I don't really get too excited about sugarcane varieties, but if you are working with cane all the time, you get pretty good at identifying the varieties.

If it doesn't get any colder than low 40's you can keep it out there all day/night long. However, if it gets too much sun all at once, you're likely to end up with sunburnt leaves. My SR always did...

Pretty much what I know are the "super sweet" ones I see on ebay, the commercial yellow and green types, some really fascinating ones I've seen posted from a club meeting in Hawaii, and some heirloom...

i do have a few vanilla vines,as well as other orchids..from 3 inch when i recived it and is know about 2 1/2 feet..on my orchid site was told about 3 -4 years to mature and flower,so i have 2 more...
