Re: Micheal Gros fungus?

Mine have identical symptoms with the black markings on all the leaves. They were all good until our winter hit. Every other banana variety growing in close proximity has no sign of this disease. I'm...

Re: USB bug zapper to kill fungus gnats

Yes, very effective systemic insecticide, they are trying to ban the main ingredient, Imidacloprid, here in Australia. They say it gets carried up to the flowers where the bees cart it off to their...

Re: USB bug zapper to kill fungus gnats

Re: Musa Ice Cream Blue Java grow and taste report

These are some old pics of what I've always thought to be my glaucous free Blue Java's.
Hopefully I might now get a proper...

Re: Musa Ice Cream Blue Java grow and taste report

Many thanks. So my description above fits a Namwa?
My first BJ supplier was from one of the most reputable TC propagators in Australia as far as I can tell. I queried them a couple of times with no...

Re: Musa Ice Cream Blue Java grow and taste report

I thought I read somewhere that there is a blue free Blue Java?
Otherwise what might the cultivar be? Quite tall, very loose crumbly peel, light in weight with an odd, bulky shape.

There's a name...

Re: Musa Ice Cream Blue Java grow and taste report

I've bought two Blue Java's from two sources with no blue glaucid? colouring. All plain green / yellow.
Waiting on a third sourced Blue Java to fruit.

I've found the blacker the skin the nicer they...

I could never repay druss for the help he's given me. This is just a small gesture to say thanks for everything.

They did say they had limited numbers of Saba and plenty of Lakatan.
They are being propagated as we speak, I'll keep you posted. Very exciting news indeed.
TBH, I didn't think I'd get a...

Re: Forcing K. Namwa to grow faster

I have a different theory in removing the young leaves.
Leaves are the power house of the plant, they are what nourishes, feeds and pushes the plant on. by removing a leaf you are removing like a...

At least I'm 35m ASL, above the frost line.
