Re: Time to put the bananas to sleep for the Winter

Very nice collection. I'm inspired to do more with potted plants and minimal indoor lighting for next winter.

I was wondering why take them outside for a few hours? Was it for bug spraying or...

The owner of this car lives in Coopersburg, PA. I go road biking past their house a few times each year but I've yet to meet the owner. I should have knocked on the door but now I know all about...

Re: minimally edible bananas for 7b

From the looks of velutina, you would be hard pressed to get a mouthful of pulp from one entire plant grown in tropical conditions and run through a food mill. I had one flower in PA but the fruit...

Re: Brian's Botanicals

Not sure but since you live in zone 6, shipping to your area will probably be risky until april or may. There are plenty of places that sell tropicals if you don't hear back from Brians. (Although...

Re: Where to buy banana fruit online?

Very cool! Enjoy them in a few days! The soy grocery markets near me like whole foods, trader joes, mccaffreys, and wegmans carry red bananas and burro.

I did buy from miami fruit several years...

Re: I Built a Gay Computer

My computer identifies as an abacus!

I think we are hitting a wall for many reasons - like decreasing demand for high performance. People can use low power handheld devices to do most computer...

Re: Donetta

They look great! Snow keeps the wind off and acts like an insulator. It is probably warmer under all the snow!

If you are ever curious, next year you can place a temperature probe (thermocouple)...

I think I'm still over 90 days away from putting cold hardy nanas outside.

On the bright side, winter has had mostly mild temperatures with just more rain than normal. Hopefully my figs and...
