Here is my take.
Your basjoos seem to be reaching 1/3 of their size for some reason.
In your zone with good soil and fertilization they could attain a 9 ft...

Times have changed!

Years ago I was very active here and grew over 30 varieties of bananas. Getting a Gros Michel plant was akin to catching a leprechaun! I did manage to get a couple at great expense sent from Hawaii...

With leaves Dwarf red is 5x taller than a Truly Tiny
Dwarf is misleading in bananas, dwarf is still big and tall if space is an issue.

i noticed the most beautiful Dwarf Brazilian pup i've ever seen, just had to share. Her shading is stunning. Proud mom should bloom any time and stands proud at about 7ft.

The only plant for you is Musa Basjoo/Mekong Giant if you want to leave it in the ground year round.
Both plants are ornamental and will not give edible fruit in our short growing season.

Welcome! Ohio is warm enough, but is the season long enough?

For some types it may be better to start them indoors in a pot, and once it warms up, plant them outside.
