Depends on how old your plant is and what varieties, that's even maybe flag leaf. Blooming time.

Re: Lost all my bananas

Well, another frosty episode on the roll. Had to dig out my biggest Daijao, it was to risky to improvise serious protection with strong winds like this. Tommorow should be better.
Good luck everyone...

Re: Need a little help with seed germination

Fresh seeds solves most problems. Normal potting mix, some heat and you can cover pots with transparent plastic bags to keep humidity.

Re: Looking for Raja Puri Pup

It would be much easier if you give us your location. It's not same if you are in Africa or in Europe......

Bananas Brindando Re: Please help

Hi Marin, definitely a lot of varieties. I would go with Namwahs, D. Brazilians and Orinoco for sure.

Re: Lost all my bananas

Well, almost exactly same time of the year and we are about to get hit by freeze again. It will probably be not so harsh as last time but some serious damage is to be expected.
Will know much more...

One general question about TC, I'm looking for TC laboratories preferred in Europe that produce TC Olive plantlets?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Bananas from seeds

Enetes are great for start considering all banana genus. If you germinate Musa sp. I definitely recommend a hardier sp. like Sikkimensis or Helen's hybrid.

Re: How to grow banana trees very tall!

It's the most common way of plant propagation nowdays. Nothing to worry about.

Re: Letting Bananas Grow into Stand

On the end it's all up to what you like. I personally like bigger clumps and I believe that for hobby growers in marginate areas they are much better solution.
