Maybe you want to try a dwarf Brazilian then. Mine is growing in a marginal spot, the taste is like apple banana (some people say it is apple banana) and it is small enough for either taking it out...

I completely agree. I left some out this winter as sort of an experiment - I wrapped and bundled three six-foot trees to see what would happen. Our lowest low was 17, but we got extended periods...

What has happened is quite common when we/I store them .
To really find out what is going on you must pull up the corm and inspect it.
Clean up the dead spots and smell the corm...if it smells...

I've read a few good posts made by gabe, and it seems that nanners breeding is very difficult. Most bananas have either sterile male or female flowers or both. I wouldnt bother trying to save pollen....
