Hector, I always love watching the progress of your banana plants. If it weren't for the weight, I'd 100% use your silica and pearlite combo for soil medium.

Update plant rotted in fine sand and pearlite.. 50/50.. misunderstanding. Course sand was required. Anyways, 2 pups lived so I am happy!!!!

Sorry forgot to update this. TURNS OUT Mekong Giant is actually Itinerans var. itinerans. What a ripoff. The sap is white. Xishuangbannaensis has red sap. Here's the link explaining the differences...

I think one is germinating!!! It's in the middle of the pic.. white part emerging! It looks like the tip of it is brown but that's just a piece of vermiculite. I might transfer it to a pearlite jar...

From what we know.. i bought 9 different types of cannas any many had the canna virus here in USA. I will forever be cautious and research/quarantine new sh** I buy haha
