Re: White Sphagnum Peat Moss - not for human consumption!

" Substrate is safe for an environment, does not contain hazardous for the health of man substances."

After reading the two posts Tony put up, am I to think that this statement is just inflammatory...

Re: Superthrive

The garden center I work for sells it and we use it in the nutrient bath for our bareroot roses prior to planting them. I have read the whole label, and if you don't, you aren't missing anything....

Re: Any bug experts?

I would not recommend Advantix for a household with cats, though. I have seen cats get reactions when an owner mistakenly applied it to their cat, or the cat groomed a dog who was recently treated...

Re: Surprise Visitor! Share your bug and little critter pictures with me!

I know katydids are a pest species, but I have an affection for them since I kept them as pets when I was a little kid. I watched this one grow up through her nymph stages into an adult over the...

Re: non-gmo seed advertisments

One of concerns I have heard has been that GMO crops are already creating resistant pests and diseases. I think that is a potential short-term concern that should be addressed. The long-term effect...

Re: Any bug experts?

I used to be a veterinary technician, and I'm not going to argue about this, but I just want to let you know what I have seen as far as flea control. The times animals would come in with adverse...

Re: Red Dwarf from Worm_Farmer

It sits under grow lights (fluorescent) and when I planted it, I gave it a good dose of worm castings and fruit and flower fertilizer mixed into the soil, and watered it in with seaweed, Big Bloom...

Re: Red Dwarf from Worm_Farmer

Yes! I originally planted it with the top of the corm a bit above the surface and added soil when the pups started coming out. There were two, but the other stopped growing. I am just glad this one...

Re: container citrus

Yeah, I don't have a Latin name for it, unfortunately. You know how these common names go. Any differences anyone knows about growing it from other lemons?

Re: Towards an optimal Tomato food

Thank you, I will! I just did a little reading up on it, and the product labelling is extremely misleading. It does say muriate of potash, but it gives a chemical symbol of K2O. Wow, and this is from...

Re: Anyone else growing Meyer Lemons or Kumquats?

By the way, when I recommend to a person to get a fertilizer that is (for a general example) 1-3-1 as opposed to 10-30-10, it is usually to prevent the person from over fertilizing, as it seems many...
