Zone 9A -I don't grow potted nanas so I defer to other members should my answers conflict...
When I give my nanas too much nitrogen they want to grow so fast that new leaves overtake older leaves...

Depotted - i saw your other post about tissue culture? a piece of corm is not a tissue culture. if your chunk of corm had roots and/or an eye it should work. very much like planting seed potatoes

Kat - No photos are showing - Namwahs do have pink veins and leaf borders but so do other varieties. Generally, photo id requires high res photos of mature pstem with bloom and fruit hanging.

Cavendish is not as cold hardy as the varieties mentioned above - Zone 8 is iffy depending on how protected it is - Zone 9A here and cavendish isn't dependable - namwa, orinoco, raja are a better...

Nothing is better than eating ripe stone fruit (peaches, apricots etc. ) from your backyard tree But, stone fruit are very prone to diseases and pests and will almost always require following a spray...
