Chance1945 that potted plant is a "Red Abyssinian" related to, but not really a banana, not cold hardy either, from Ethiopia.

Purchased this as a Pisang Ceylon from Willis Orchard last year not sure what it really is! It flowered in Connecticut and made some nanas - It fell down last week :( Good thing I have some pups!...

I have also over wintered musa basjoo in CT in the ground - but one winter I got lazy and did not cover it and I think the water made it rot.
