Winterizing early?

Ugh. I'm having neck surgery in 3 weeks. And I'm thinking of my bananas and canna plants.... last year I winterized mid October, and I won't be ready to do any work like that for at least 6 weeks...

The "indoor" and "outdoor" leaves is a good way to describe it. I was horrified last year when that happened to me...now I'm prepared! They didn't miss a BEAT being inside. Some store them...

Yes, I just posted it this week. This is my second year with all of these plants....so kinda my first time with spring! (I had two basjoos last spring, babies, but that's it).

Thank you, appreciate your quick reply! I figured they should be ok. The basjoos, definitely. The maurelii, I wasn't sure, but thought it would be ok. I've just put so much work into these plants...

So I've been getting my bananas (ensette maurelii and basjoos) and cannas used to being outside on nice days. (oh...and my colocasia gigantea, and brugmansia).

It's quite a chore bringing them in...

I haven't planted it yet...but I did find some great, square planters that fit in the boxes perfectly! So I plan on doing it that way. I'm wanting to plant my persian shield in it this year....

WOW Andrew!! You could perhaps try the "forced pupping" with your maurelii....I think it was Sandy (NOrthern Tropics) on here who had a post about that, and she got a lot of pups! I got my maurelii...
