Re: Can someone help me ID this banana tree?
The first pic (with the pool) is from the person I got the plants from. He said they grow about 17' tall which makes me happy. They are also cold hardy for my area just outside Charlotte NC. The base...

Looking for a possible ID on this banana tree. Pictured is from the original owner as to the size of the tree and then a closer look at the leaf. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Red

Re: Windowsill growing.
Every plant looks happy in their winter home. My banana plants are bare root in rubber maid bins in a corner of the garage in front of a window. I keep dry compost over the roots to keep things from...

Re: First time digging up bananas for winter...
I just dug out my banana plants this weekend. All I do is remove excess dirt, then place the plant in a plastic bin, cover the base of the plant with dry manure compost and put them in the garage...

Re: Banana Growers in NC...
I grow Basjoo, Musa Bordelon and Sikkimensis. I usually just keep them outside in the ground. This winter I dug them up and have them in the garage. I’m trying to start off next season with a taller...

I forgot to ask this question in my original post. Should I cut off the blooms that are on the bordelon or just leave them be? Also, does the plant die back after blooming or just keep going? Thanks...
