That is very true, and when he does ask i help him the best i can. But he does try and that is what you need determination when growing these plants as they are more challenging as we all know.

Musa Basjoo are root hardy to at least minus 15c (5 Fahrenheit) so digging up won't be needed unless you get arctic condition's every winter. You will lose the Pseudostem at anything lower than 5...

Mid october for my area/region. And yes mostly just keep an eye on the forecast. As here in the UK anything can happen as the last year proved, that was one hell of a bad winter. -14c in my area....

I am glad that was a big help. The roller is the leaf in the middle that is not opened up yet. We call it a roller here in the UK as the leaf is rolled up before it opens out fully. :)

It depends on which ensete you have actually got some stores label a ventricosum as a maurelli and vice versa? The wild ones will have green leafs which are the ventricosums they come from lower down...
