Re: Typical height for a Dwarf Namwah banana to fruit?

Good suggestion!

In my area, banana plants typically get yellow and brown leaves. Plants typically do not die.

This past winter however was cooler.

I'm just trying to plan ahead. I just figure the...

Cold Re: Typical height for a Dwarf Namwah banana to fruit?

Six months? Okay, that puts in in winter for ripening time. I'll review the site on ways to shelter my plant against cold.

Thanks as always Crazy_Banana!

Re: Typical height for a Dwarf Namwah banana to fruit?

For Dwarf Namwah, do you let the bananas ripen on the plant or pick and let ripen? Here's a picture of the first fruits emerging from the flower.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Typical height for a Dwarf Namwah banana to fruit?

Opps, the height is just under 6 foot/182 centimeter at the top of the bud.

We've had lively discussions on why it decided to flower. So far, the consensus is that it has a hot year in Northern...

Re: Typical height for a Dwarf Namwah banana to fruit?

That's what I wanted to know! I'll put a range of 7 to 9 feet. Considering this and growth of around 1 to 2ft/year I might get fruit next year. All other things being equal off course!:nanadrink:

Re: Zan Moreno flowering - need advice on ants, fruiting, after fruiting

Yes, most digital cameras these days take pictures in the 2MB per picture range. I used Picasa's export feature to reduce size and it down to around 68KB per picture. That uploaded without any issue.

Re: Zan Moreno flowering - need advice on ants, fruiting, after fruiting

I think the best way to summarize all of your advice is, "be observant". I'll keep an eye out what the ants are up too, where they'll nest and go from there. I appreciate the remedy advice should...

Giant thanks

Do you typically wait for the fruit to ripe before picking or pick green? Zan Moreno is a dwarf Cavendish type.
