Hey bananas/ neighbor- Good luck with your two. This is the second winter mine have been in the ground. First winter I did the setup with chicken wire/mulch/hay/ leaves & covered it with a tarp....

Gotcha. My basjoo I keep in the ground also & covered. This past spring when I uncovered them they were rotted to the ground. Now they grew back stronger it seems. Like you said, they must get...

Great pics. I found what you said very interesting. Either way they both grew to the same height. My question is why dig them out if the corms have been surviving.

OK thanks.That's what I was thinking also, but wanted to get some feedback/ reassurance from others that have tried successfuly. I hate to loose them. They are like my babies!!

Hi all. I dug up my 3 IC for the first time. They have stems about 3' tall. I took all the dirt off the roots. I plan to store them in a garage. My only question is what is the min temp they would be...

I have a Windmill Palm also. A 30 gal I purchased last year. All I did was wrap it with frost cloth for it's first winter in the ground. It's now uncovered & looks good. Very hardy palm.

I checked mine the other day. First year in the ground last year. In the fall I cut the leaves off leaving me with about 4.5' of pstem. Enclosed it in chicken wire. Filled it with leaves & straw....
