The leaves do ok but they do start to fall away from the pstem (I believe that’s what it’s called based on my reading here). Only happens to the lower leaves

Basically this happens, the leaves start to fall away from the stem but the leaves themselves look fine. Normal?

Oh really? I thought I read somewhere to just cut to just above the stem. I read that after I was just cutting all the way to just about the ground.

Proper leaf cutting
So when I first got these I was cutting way to low of the leaves that needed to go and now I have this on my plants. Is this normal or when I properly cut the leaves will it just fix...

Ah ok I can see that with the black mulch, makes sense. I’ll see about switching it out in the fall. I already potted 3 of the bordelons pups and they’re doing fine. I’ll use the rest of the summer...

They all get the same amount of sun. The plant is still short enough so I can try throwing something over it to shade it for the time being..

I live in Sacramento and the temps are regularly hitting 105+ right now. My Bordelons new leaves keep coming out like this now. The leaves it had prior are staying just fine. Is this a heat related...

Thanks. One of the plants is now getting what looks to be fried leaves when they sprout along the edges. It’s the green/red one that’s not in a pot. I’m in Sacramento and the temps are hitting 108 in...
