By the way, thanks for the answer Gabe. I'll be visiting the island for the first time next July so I am looking forward to seeing huge banana plants instead of the tiny hotel variety we have here.

Bigger Pot? Its in a five gallon now. Maybe next year I'll plant them in the ground and see what happens. I'll keep the one of the pups in a pot to make sure I have one left in case the ground...

I have had a banana plant for going on three years. It had put out one pup last year, that I detached and repotted, and is putting out another this spring. This plant has never flowered or fruited....

Cutting of the Stalk?
Have had my banana plant indoors all winter and now that its outside it doesn't seem to want to grow. Should I cut off the stalk to start new growth? If so how low should I cut it?
