Re: Potted banana has a shoot
Will waiting longer hurt the mother plant? I value the main more then the shoot so I'm not sure how to cause minimal damage to it when I do removal of shoot.

A tiny little Gros Michel and a bigger Blue Java. They just came in today, and I'm no banana expert, but I'm a tad worried about the condition they arrived in? What do you guys think?
(they're in...

*returns from the dead* Hello again. Now I'm in Maine (an even worse place to grow bananas) but I have an even larger house/stairwell to attempt this mad plan. My target is the cold-hardy icecream...

Re: Does nutrition vary between banana types?
Ah yes, I should have clarified. I'm interested in the difference in nutritional value of different bananas as in their fruit, when consumed by humans. : P
When you say you haven't found "ready"...

Re: Does nutrition vary between banana types?
I did this and found an article on the growth of different banana breeds but it did not include any nutritional info. Mayhaps you might have a link? Or the name of the paper for me to google scholar?
