Re: Water Soluble Banana Fuel Dosages
Hi Richard,
I'm using your 28-8-18 fertilizer on ornamentals (musa basjoo). Do you have any thoughts on using a garden hose bottle sprayer such as this (Amazon.com : Gilmour 362 Professional No...

Re: Lowes Ice Cream banana?
This is off topic, but since I just found out I now have three Dwarf Cavendish and not three Ice Creams (thanks, Lowe's), I am wondering if I should move the one that gets full sun all day to a...

Thanks venturabananas!
The more I looked at pictures of DCs, I was coming to the same conclusion, so you definitely confirmed my suspicions.

Re: Lowes Ice Cream banana?
Here are some pics of my "ice creams". Looking at them closer, I think I got the same variety as nph, which makes sense considering we are in the same...

Re: Water Soluble Banana Fuel Dosages
Richard,
I received my banana fuel yesterday. I have some questions about the application rates/plant sizes. For us newbies, can you clarify some physical characteristics to look for to judge what...

Re: Lowes Ice Cream banana?
I bought 3 of the Lowe's "Ice Cream" bananas. At least I got them 50% off! I do recall they have some blotches on the pstem, but the leaves are all green. I'll post some pictures, I would appreciate...

Re: My New Babies!
Ah, the photo is deceptive, there is actually about 2 feet between the fence and the plants closest to it. Also the fence will be moved another 1.5ft away when the fence gets rebuilt this winter.

Re: My New Babies!
Hi Barney,
Are you referring to the rows of potted bananas? Those are there temporarily because that area does not get much sun, I plan to move the pots around the yard to increase there sun exposure...

Re: My New Babies!
Thanks for the tip RandyGHO. I hadn't heard of doing that. I'm not ready to plant them anyway, so acclimation is what they are getting. :) But based on what you are saying, maybe I can get them in...

Re: My New Babies!
My zone 8 winters are why I am primarily planting basjoos. I understand that the ice creams are also hardy in zone 8, but I'm not counting on them as much as the basjoo.
I did recently plant some...

Re: My New Babies!
Hi H2O,
I ALMOST made the same mistake. I was planning to just put them in the ground, then came across a thread here about sunburn and acclimation at the last minute. I hear 1-2 weeks for...

My New Babies!

I've been lurking here for a few weeks, learning what I could before starting to plant my first bananas.
Some history: My wife and I bought a house that desperately needed a backyard...
