Re: Woud you separate the pup?
Hi Terri,

has changed, like transplanting or relocating the pot, the plant is in. Low
temperature should not cause this,...

Re: Woud you separate the pup?
I usually wait until the first frost has bitten into the leaves, which are to be cut off
anyway.
The PS is quite frost resistant, because of its greater mass and the short early
morning duration...

Re: Woud you separate the pup?
Hi Al,
I have not tried that yet. And I cannot think of a reason to. A small pup in a small

wire mesh? May I suggest, that you use leaves instead? there are plenty of those
lying around everywhere. In spring...

Sawdust clearly has some insulating properties, I just do not know how much. But to
fill it right against the p-stem would promote rot. If you want to use that method,
at least place a piece of...

Re: What do you do with so much fruit?
You can make banana bread in bulk and freeze it. The recipe we use calls for a lot of bananas. It keeps great in our chest freezer. We make so much some times that we skip the loaf and just make it...

Re: Overwintering
Terri,
I remove them from the pots and plant them out in the Garden in regular composted soil in May. This is the first year I've tried the pea gravel over the winter. They are still looking pretty...

Time to store the bananas, dormant for the Winter
It's the time of year that I dread...time to dig up the bananas. For those of us in colder zones with no greenhouse, we have to do it in order to ever get fruit. Everybody has their own methods of...
