Most Banana's will grow where you are.. I've had namwah, saba, and cali gold come back reliably in S. Ark. You could grow goldfinger easy. Most gingers will comback too..

Don't quote me on this, and I don't have any personal experience, but I think I remember reading that at least some form(s) of M. yunnanensis is/are understory plants in the wild....or maybe it was...

I actually have grown Moso from seed in the past but I don't remember doing anything special beyond what one might normally do for starting vegetable seed indoors.....with 24hr pre-soak and humidity...
