My First EVER banana bloom, with hands forming! I am so exicted.

Just had to share. I'm in Mesa, AZ; I have five varieties. This is Pisang Mysore. Hoping to get blooms on my Ice Cream bananas this summer also.

What is the diameter at the base of the super dwarf Cavendish, since you live in zone 6b, was your super dwarf Cavendish in a pot and only planted into the ground this year....

There is a technique that has been used in Asia where they leave the top leaves and cut into the lower pstem to allow the flower to escape...

Yes prune a lot! If it was me I would leave the first hand and 1 finger on the last hand. 2 hands max. If it only ends up with the first hand, I would remove those 3 smaller bananas also. Just pluck...
