Kluai Nam Wa is generally considered to be in the "awak" group of ABB cooking bananas.

This means that namwa has one set of chromosomes from Musa acuminata and two sets from Musa...

1) You can do (sexless) protoplast hybridisation; you can strip the walls off cells in a free culture and then encourage cell fusion. I know of one postgrad project...
