Re: Variegated Banana Seeds
Got my seeds today! Thank you PR-Giants very much for distributing these rare seeds to our members here. Already have mine soaking in rain water, in a insulated cooler, on a heat mat set for 88F....

Re: Potting pups in sand
We have a lot of sand here too. It all seems so fine to me but now that I think about it, I haven't spent much time really examining it. I guess I should head to one of our beaches with a window...

Good point - when you put it that way it seems clear to me the airspace, at least within the mixture as a whole and assuming the basketballs aren't clumped by themselves in one part of the mix, would...

Uganda - a few pics
So I just returned from Uganda and while the trip wasn't about bananas, they definitely factored into my interest during our time there.

Re: Potting pups in sand
For those of you struggling to find a coarse sand (I am) I found something that looks as coarse as the sand in PR Giants pictures and may be better than sand for those of us outside the tropics. It...

Re: Potting pups in sand

you can almost drown the roots. but you have to keep the corm dry. that's the secret, that's the trick, that's what most...

Yes I just planted it in the ground a few weeks ago and it's starting to grow pretty good but still pretty small. Out of this last winter that was the only banana plant that I had in a pot make it. I...
