dirt temp is just as or more important than the air temps. I know if you plant in the cold dirt you are way better off having left them inside for a few more weeks.

i move them out during the day and in on the colder below 50 nights as much as i can but the old in and out is not as easy as it used to be. it's still the best way to acclimate them.Our last frost...

you can't tell from pic if the rot is from the bottom up or not. if it is you need to cut down to where it has started from and remove all black rot, even if it goes all the way down to the corm.

if the black rot is all the way around in the new leaf cut it off and keep cutting down lower until there is no black rot in the new leaf

assuming you are growing basjoo cause you are uncovering in zone 6 or 7. you have been good for a while now as long as you are ready to cover for a night or two when temps drop well below freezing

Get a magnifying glass and look for the very tiny bugs. take your time and look for very small slightly moving spots, also webbing at the ends of the leaves etc. if you see any, wipe top and bottom...
