As they say, start out with one. (Keep another one in a pot, as a back-up.) There is a botanical garden, here in N.Y. that had some Basjoos growing, and they decided to move them, so they dug them...

I would say, only one. I don't know where you're located, but if you have to dig them up in the fall, I would say only one. This will give you a chance for some pups, which you can dig, and replant...

Bananas, locally, are .49 (sometimes .39) Whenever I have visited Florida, I found Publix to be expensive. I haven't sent a letter recently, (do everything on the internet)but you have a point.

We have a local Botanical Garden that had a mat of Basjoo that they decided to move. Some of the residues that were left grew again the next year, and have continued in years hence.
