Re: Growing bananas in a conservatory

Considering that you managed to get good fruit from your bananas, I'd be tempted to say not to change anything, because you're obviously doing something right.

We have a fluctuating humidity,...

Re: Forked leaves

More likely just a confused growth point coming out of the undifferentiated callus I produced it from. The leaves have difficulty exiting the pseudostem, so I'm not sure if it's really a viable form...

Re: Reputable nurseries for Zone 7 hardy nanners?

Great to see people here from the dry side of Washington. Are you north, middle, or south, where I am? If you're near enough, I've got extra basjoos and m. lasiocarpa kicking around taking up...

Re: Ooverwintered inside dwarf cavendish flowering

Re: Howdy

Thanks, everyone.

Ensetes are fun because they're so fast growing and tolerant, but they don't pup so you can't get a natural stand of them. Still, they make great annuals. I've been playing...

Re: what zone will basjoo survive in with no care?

I'm squarely in zone 7, and unless it's planted next to the foundation, I've lost every banana, basjoo and lasiocarpa, that I've placed in the ground and not mulched, even after a full season's...

Howdy

Guess I've been a long time lurker here but never managed to post anything. Sorry about that. I moved just before this site was started and stopped growing as many bananas and being involved in the...
