I been using pure S in my garden for years. It's effective for controlling some kinds of rot and repelling certain insects and small animals. Cheap, too.

You can get wettable dusting sulfur that's about 90% pure elemental sulfur from any good farm supply store cheap. Some rot it kills; some it does not. It will repel some insects but not kill them. ...
