Re: Making My Own Insecticide with Canola Oil and Dawn Dish Soap

I wouldn't mess with mine either. I have noticed some evidence of bugs snacking on some of the leaves. The young Raja puri has some little bits of silk on the cigar leaf and perhaps on other parts....

Re: Keeping Out Squirrels!

Yep Peoria is about 45-60 minutes away. I like our summers. I like winter with snow for a couple weeks, then I'm ready for it to be 85-95 degrees Fahrenheit ha.

Re: Keeping Out Squirrels!

Springfield, Il. I don't see too many squirrels around here, just a couple from time to time.
Most are about half the size of a cat. One likes to sit on the window sill outside; caught it napping in...

Re: Keeping Out Squirrels!

I just heard that sprinkling cayenne pepper will repel the squirrels; I think I'll just sprinkle a bit around my banana and other plants.

Keeping Out Squirrels!

Hey everyone. I thought I'd ask how to repel squirrels from my bananas and other potted plants. What could I sprinkle on the soil that won't harm the banana and keep the squirrels out. Last year, I...

Re: Any Downsides to Raja Puri?

When bringing it in during the winter, can a Raja puri handle less light compared to Cavendish?

Re: Any Downsides to Raja Puri?

Planted it about 4 days ago; the plant hasn't produced any new growth yet. I'll have to post some pics when the plant gets bigger to confirm whether it's Raja puri or not. I would hope the site I...

Re: S.o.s

Well I think I'm going to lessen the concentration of the soap I used. I observed some pretty bad foliar burn on all the leaves and pseudo stem. I checked the ingredients on the bottle and it said it...

Re: S.o.s

I used some soap and it doesn't seem to be working. I used 1/4 of a spray bottle of dish soap and the other 3 parts water. I hear that isopropyl alcohol mixed with water could work. I don't want to...

Re: Anyone else like Dada Life? They are obsessed with bananas, they should grow some

I only listen to rock and trance plus some other electronic genres. Tiesto is one of my favorites but I also like dumonde, cosmic gate, armin van buren, and Paul oakenfold.

Are Banana Corms Edible?

:ha:
Yes, silly question I know. I was watching a video of someone dividing a corm and it sort of reminded me of a potato.

Re: What have I got here???

That looks a lot like a dwarf cavendish to me. Although it doesn't have the dark markings on the leaves like young dcs have.

Re: Durians

They look very bizarre to me. The outside smell described by others may be enough to deter me from trying one.

Re: No New Growth On Ground Planted Banana.

Yeah had to plant in a pot the soil is all clay. When I would water it the water would take a couple minutes to soak in which I think isn't too good.
