This is my plant that I bought labeled as 'Burmese Blue'. BigDog has said that it is probably not BB but rather Musa itinerans var. itinerans. Regardless of what it really is I wanted to share this photo with everyone. The banana on the right was the mother plant last year. It survived the winter with no problem. About Feb. I noticed a pup (plant on left) coming up about 3' away from the mother plant. It really took off by late Feb and by the end of March was much more robust looking than the mother plant. Today I dug it up and this is what I found! Definitely a runner. I have potted up the pup to keep and have the main plant and a pup I removed last year if anyone is interested in one. Just PM me!
