how did you end up finding the snake? i love all things nature, but if it can bite me and make me sick...its dead. i remember a saying that says: and i curse you to crawl on your belly and you will bruise the mans heal and the man will bruise thy head...screw that kill it!

It wouldn't hurt you in the slightest kitty.Over here in the UK we can buy cornsnakes as pets, and very good ones they make too.Hardly ever bite, mind you they are captive bred but I'd makea guess and say wild ones are probably just as easy going.
Very cool though having real snakes in your yard, must keep any vermin in check. The wildest thing I've found in my garden was a Slow worm,a legless lizard.

That is a nice Elaphae gutatta ( Red Rat Snake). It is a good friend to keep around, as mice and rats like bananas too!! Good shot!!
