I use an old plastic tupperware container.
The heat mat is under that.
I then slip the whole set-up inside an old zippered
blanket bag.
I prop open bag sometimes to let mositure
evaporate! Hope this works!

What a great money-saving idea! Curious about what setting you're using for the heating pad?

I started on high for about an hour. Its a $12.00 heating pad, so it doesnt get boiling hot. Then I would turn it down to the next setting for bout' 7hrs. Off for 12hr. Take the container out of the bag,and place in a cool room till morning.
I like the set-up. I didnt germinate anything! Iam sure my problem was not sterilizing my soil! (bad move)
I kept an oscillating fan blowing in the room to keep the gnats at bay. Next winter iam going to use an idea from another post and crush those mosquito dunks in the water.Good Luck!
