Thanks. Hopefully I can get some fruit this year. There is a huge disconnect between expectations and reality with this plant.

Great answer..... Here is my take.
The plant has a sour history from PR Giants from a few years back.
Many forum members at the time got the plant ....and got fkt.
The plant for me was more testy than a Viente Cohol>

He had said the plant would go from pup(that he sold you for 30+) to a fruiting edible banana in under a year in my short season zone.

Pr giant...would not sell me a plant to test in my zone under perfect indoor/outdoor conditions on how best to manage the plant.
I had gotten the plant from another member

That how the disconnect had started back in 2014ish......depending when you were fktd

I have grow issues as well for the forum member selling plants "just before they fruit"

If you get one and it fails to perform.......it will be the new growers fault..

I got my patupi from Ty and I knew that the Northern growers had a lot of problems but I didn't expect the Southern growers to have problems too! H. Melendez didn't get his Patupi to fruit in Miami before he disapeared from the blog. I was nagging him for updates all the time. I think Media Hound or one of the other guys down in Port St. Lucie area had problems too and said he pulled it out for lack of performance.

Yeah, not to sure how that "grow it till its near fruiting, then cut back the pstem and mail a 20lb corm in the Sptring" is going to work out. Well, actually I do know how! Haha.
