so tell me..what is the differece between the brugs and the datura? i thought an angles trumpet was one species.

Brugmansia and Datura are two separate genus, but closely related. Daturas are annulas, I believe (could be wrong about that), but Brugmansias (the hardier ones like this one) will come back from the roots every year here.
