Do these fruit appear red, and then turn green/yellow?

They seem to vary in how red they are. The easiest way to explain it is this: imagine a normal banana that is green until it turns yellow when it is ripe. Now paint that banana with a semitransparent layer of red that stays the same throughout the ripening process. So, the redness doesn't change, but the underlying green-yellow does.
