Poster: Kimcheewan1 (see this users gallery) I live in Florida, Gulf Coast near Venice, Florida. I bought four plants a few years ago at the Sarasota Fruit and Nut Society annual plant sale. I kept them in a pot for a year. We moved and I was finally able to get them into the ground. It took them three years to get established and now they seem very happy. Last summer they grew up to about 20 - 25 feet tall! A flower appeared in the late fall and wahlah ... a few months later we have our first bananas, which we harvested today! They're small bananas 3 - 4 inch size and -very- deliciously sweet, wonderful to eat as is! I am not sure of the variety, I lost the tag when we moved but I am inclined to think they are a type of Thai banana!
