there is so much hype surrounding dwarf papayas much like fast fruiting bananas. i have found that you have to plant many seeds in groupings and there are rockets within that group. you should thin out all the slower ones.

with all these ebay seed packs being sold for $30.00 for 5-10 seeds. they are supposed to fruit when the plant is one foot high and other nonsense.. i think most of the dwarfs perform about the same. this one will fruit when its about waist high. i usually start em when its late in the season and try to keep them over winter. i try to plant the starters in late April.

this x-77 papaya was started early this year,because my fall plantings didnt make it.
