Yes but harmless. It is a banana spider, but is really an orb weaver, and at our other place there were abundant since it was deeply forested. They have a very sticky web and it works well. This is one of the biggest we have seen but it can stay where it is for a while. That yolk looking thing is getting ready to hatch a lot of pups and we will have to move her then. She is acouple of inches long and almost as wide and a very good huynter who stores her caatch for future use. Her mate is only about 3/4 inch in length and he will be breakfast when the hatch is over.
