Fun From the Compost Pile

A couple strays in a pot on it's way to the compost pile... an oak (lower left) and some hops, right.
I usually keep pots with last year's stuff still growing & process them the next spring & add it to the compost pile.
The squirrels are no doubt to blame for the oak, but the hops are a mystery.
All the hops we have here are female so it couldn't have come from seed.
