Very early blooms on my Musa Basjoo
View Smaller Image

Photo Details
Poster: hydroid  (see this users gallery)

It's still very early spring time here along the Gulf Coast and I can't believe I already have blooms on these Musa Basjoos. Everything is still pretty brown for the most part and the Basjoos were the first thing to start turning green.

Hey Ante, how are you?
My lows were in the mid 20's for several overnight lows. We had a pretty cold winter but not as bad as last year.

Hey James, it's good to hear from you, how are your plants doing?
I will be heading back to Brazil this week but it was sure good to be here with my family and do a little gardening.
Cheers

Bill finch over in Mobile wrote an article about getting Bananas (fruit) here locally and says that if we resist the urge to cut them down that we stand alot better chance of getting fruit. I never cut any of mine unless it is obvious that they are not gonna make and usually when they start falling down or soft mushy and hollow near the top.
