i dont know if this is what some people are calling tx star or not but this was all i found in my south Tx travels(San ant -Laredo).. this is actually a dwarf orinoco strain from texas ..
in south Tx even the ones that were being taken care of in landscape (like this one), had only a few fruits.. ive seen some wild growing Orinoco produce only 4 fruit on several fruiting plants in mats. i wonder if the ones that people were using in landscape projects were actually taken from the wild as well? what ever the case i dont know if its any more hardy than my dwarf orinoco, but im guessing this banana mutated to this low bearing state to help it survive in its harsh south TX. environment? if its not possible to increase production any more than this then im not too stuck on it. still a nice plant and probably fruits consistently in that area.

see my dwarf Orinoco to compare.. produces more fruit even if i don't fertilize the whole year.
