Hey Unonan.
Your potted plant in today's pic is Cordyline australis.. the New Zealand 'cabbage tree'.. a close relative of the Hawaiian 'Ti'.
It grows throughout NZ in most climate zones here from almost-subtropical to cool temperate (snowy winters) with temps down to about 25 degrees F in winter. They are very popular garden plants in Southern England, especially near the coast.
