The soil it is growing in is high clay in content. That gives better insight into its preferred growing conditions. It looks good!

I can't remember the soil type. The picture was taken over five years ago. I have the soil figures somewhere in my files. I'll let you know if I'll find it. The place was in deep moist ravine in which some people had done illegal loggings and carried the logs by hands away. For that reason the place had some day lights in jungle and had a good populations of var. xichuangbannaensis. Note the corm was in diameter over 50 cm and at least over a meter high.
